Fresh Steamed Green Beans

We love, love, love fresh fruits and veggies, but sadly with busy schedules it is easier to bust open a can vs cooking fresh. We ran across a really simple way to cook fresh green beans, a favorite veggie for our kids. With just a couple of ingredients and a few minutes you can make a fresh, delicious side for almost any meal!

What You Need

1-2 lbs fresh green beans, snapped and stringed

Garlic Powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup water

4 tablespoons butter

season salt

Fix it Fast

1. Soak and string green beans.

2. In a medium saucepan add water and green beans. Steam on medium/high heat for 6 minutes {we cooked the beans for 6 minutes and they were still very crispy. If you prefer then more tender cook around 8-10 minutes).

3. Drain water from pan and add butter, garlic {if using powder just add to taste}, and a few shakes of season salt. Toss until butter is melted and serve!
