For my first daughter she would drink from a sippy at first so we had to get the cups with the flip straw but they are so hard to clean. My second daughter did well with them, but again it was tough finding one that didn't leak on the floors or couch. My son is only 8 months old but we got him one with handles on both sides and he's doing great.
